UW Computational Neuroscience Center (CNC) is excited to announce the 4th annual “Hackacollabathon” hosted by the Allen Institute for Neural Dynamics (AIND) and the CNC. The goal of this event is to create a space for AIND and UW scientists to connect and collaborate, centered on analyzing fresh data collected at AIND.
Date: Dec 4, 2024, 12 pm – 3 pm
Location: UW South Campus Center (“Crow’s Nest” – Room 354)
Description:
In this workshop, you will focus on mapping mesoscale connectivity, specifically between the thalamus and frontal cortex, regions important for higher-order cognitive behaviors. You will work with whole mouse brain anatomy datasets that were labelled with retrograde viral tracers and imaged with a light sheet microscope (SmartSPIM) that enables fast and efficient imaging of large biological samples. The event will kick-off with lunch and short talks from AIND scientists, followed by the hackathon, where participants can openly explore the dataset.
Please join us if you are interested in analyzing large-scale neural datasets in a collaborative environment. Python experience expected (NumPy, SciPy, matplotlib, pandas).
